Western Stevedoring is continuing a monitoring and mitigation program in response to the recent presence of an intermittent sheen near a storm outflow at its Lynnterm facility in North Vancouver.
The most recent observations of the previously impacted area show minimal to no sheen at the outfall point which indicates that systematic mitigation efforts are having the intended positive outcome. An independent testing program remains active, with sample results continuing to be measured well below regulatory limits for hydrocarbons and increasingly registering consistently as non-detectable.
Since our February 23 statement, Western Stevedoring has completed the inspection of the stormwater system with no material structural integrity issues found. We continue to work closely with regulatory agencies including the BC Environmental Emergency Program and the District of North Vancouver.
Western Stevedoring is continuing investigation and evaluation of actions to prevent a reoccurrence.
